Are you good at handling animals in a gentle and firm manner and keeping them calm and safe at all times?

If you said a big "hell yes" to ALL of the above then we've got the perfect job ready and waiting for a friendly and self-motivated person that's ready to start ASAP.

The position will be largely self-directed and we will expect you to just get on with it once we've told you which animals we want to sell.

Jacquie Edwards and Anthony D’Souza (swap our initials around a bit and you’ll see where the JADE comes from) had a dream to create JADE Alpaca Ranch because of their passion for sustainability and fuzzy animals.  

We are located on 27 acres between Oxford and Swindon and focus on caring for our animals in a sustainable and as natural an environment as possible in order to breed top quality white alpacas and provide eggs, fleece and other farming products through our website and farm shop.

About Your Role

As our Alpaca Seller your main goal will be to sell our animals as quickly and efficiently as possible to qualified buyers.

Ideally you will also be able to arrange transport and facilitate all aspects of the sales process.

This is a commission based role and there will be no hourly wage or salary. See below for further info on commission structure.

• Dedication, reliability and a great work ethic
• Attention to detail in all aspects of your work
• Ability to make suggestions for improvements
• Valid Driver's License
• Able to handle animals with confidence and patience
• Problem-solving skills
• Work safely at all times, particularly around farm equipment and animals
• The ability to use one’s own initiative

Timing & Pay

We need our excess stock sold before September 2024.  Approximately 15 breeding females with excellent genetics, some pregnant for 2024 births and others can be mated for 2025 season.  

Base commission is 10%.

If all animals are successfully sold and delivered before 31 August 2024 an additional 10% commission will be added.

You will be self-employed and commission will be paid as each alpaca sale completes.

We are expecting there to be a minimum of £2,000 commission, but the more you sell the alpacas for and the quicker, the more you make.
